Memorial Service for Raymond McGowan will be held on Saturday, June 14, 2025 at 12:00 pm at Robertson Funeral Home Chapel.
Raymond Earl McGowan was born on September 18,1964 to Delilia and L.C. McGowan. He is the youngest of eight children. He graduated from Marlin High School in 1982. Raymond played basketball and was very popular during time in high school. Raymond went into the workforce and worked various jobs until he was unable to work due to a disability. In 2023, Raymond was diagnosed with multiple myeloma and in 2025 congestive heart failure which ultimately both took his life.
Family who preceded him in death: father, L.C. McGowan, mother, Delilia McGowan, and sister, Brenda Maxwell. He is survived by his two daughters: Shyquita Evans (Chester McDonald) of Waco, Naeisha Judie. Son: Li’Memphis Judie-McGowan. Grandchildren: Jaylin Brooks, Talajzia Brooks, LeeMarion McDonald and Lillian McDonald. Sisters: Marye Dimerson Jackson (James), Marilyn Freeman (Howard Johnson), Carolyn Linton (Henry) of Marlin. Brothers: Clifton Davis (Carroll) of Washington, D.C., Earnest ‘Charles’ McGowan of Mexia, Nathaniel ‘Nate’ McGowan and Robert ‘Lobo’ McGowan of Marlin, Leonard McGowan of McKinney, Billy McGowan (Odie) of Killeen, Louis ‘Butch’ McGowan (Rochelle) of Waco and one aunt; Rosie Simpson of Marlin, Texas. And a good friend Marshun Woodson. Raymond has a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
