Service for Odell Grant of Bremond, Texas will be held on Saturday, March 13, 2021 at 11:00a.m. Bremond High School Gymnasium in Bremond, Texas. Burial will follow at Clover Leaf Cemetery. Visitation for Deacon Odell Grant will be on Friday, March 12, 2021 from 2:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Masks are still required. Odell Grant body will lie in state at the Bremond High School Gymnasium on Saturday, March 13, 2021 from 9:00 a.m. - 10:45 a.m. Masks are required at his service.
O’Dell Grant was born to the late John Grant and Alberta Grant in Bremond, Texas on September 17, 1942. He accepted Christ at an early age at Little Flock Baptist Church in Forney, Texas and was later ordain as a deacon of the church.
O’Dell Grant graduated from Booker T. Washington High School, Forney Texas. He loved his family and friends deeply. He loved driving trucks, hunting, fishing, traveling, taking care of his animals and running behind his children and grandchildren. O’Dell was a loving dad and true friend to many, he never met a stranger. Deacon Grant loved mowing the cemetery, gardening as well as raising chickens and helping people in the Bremond Community. Odell worked for Bremond I. S. D. as a bus driver for eight years.
O’Dell met Mary K. Gipson at an early age, and they were married on October 12, 1963. They were married for 44 years until the day the Lord decided to pick another flower and have Mary come home. To this union four children was born Felicia L. Grant, Veronica Y. Grant, Sophia L. Grant and O’Dell Grant Jr.
O’Dell was truly loved and will be greatly missed by many. He is preceded in death by his father John Grant, mother Alberta (Grant) Ransom, and his wife of 44 years Mary Gipson Grant. , Herbert Autry and Floyda Fields
He leaves to love, and embrace his memories: wife, Annie Grant, four children Felicia (Allen) Williams, Veronica Grant, Sophia (Lonnie) Clemon and O’Dell Grant Jr. Four grandchildren Al-lecia William, Jaleel (Shelby) Clemon, Dee-Andrea Grant and Katherine Grant. Three great grandchildren Devin Martin, Kenlee Clemon and Jhett Clemon. One brother John L. Grant. Two uncles Howard Gray and L.C. Randoulph, four stepchildren, Vicki Heidelberg (Alford) Anderson, Linda Heidelberg, Kim Heidelberg and Michelle Heidelberg, nine step grand children, 14 step great grandchildren, four brothers-in-laws, the Shelley Family, two special children, Raven McNeil and Joshua Stephens, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousin and friends.
