Service for Jerri Collins Butler of Marlin will be held on Saturday, May 22, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. Marlin Missionary Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery in Marlin.
On July 11, 1964, the late Jimmie Lee (Sanders) and Clarence F. Collins became proud blessed parents of their third beautiful baby girl and named her Jerri Allyson Collins(Butler). Being the baby of the bunch, the late James Sanders (Big Daddy) her grandfather spoiled “Panky Lou” the name he would call her until his death. She grew up in the south end of Marlin, Tx and attended Upper Zion Baptist Church with her two older sisters Jacqueline and Janice Collins. Jerri Collins graduated from Class 0f 1982 at Marlin High School where she was known for her creativity, glowing smile and sportsmanship.
Jerri gave birth to three beautiful children her first-born Eboni Nicole Butler in 1983, her second born Jaleesa Sharee Butler in 1992 all while attending and graduating nursing school to become a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN). Still pursuing her career, she gave life to her third born, a handsome baby boy, an angel named Donald Eric Jackson Jr. (Bookie Dookie) in 2005 who was departed on November 12th of 2007 when our father in heaven whispered to him to come back home to the heavens above.
She worked for 27+ yrs. at the Department of Veterans Affair (V.A.) in Waco, Tx where she met many of loving and caring people who would also get to know what wonderful god-fearing woman she was. that many of us, her family got to genuinely adore, cherish and be around every day. Always tried to bring the best of herself out as much as she could towards others even through the trials and tribulations that came with life itself through it all she continued to smile. That is just who “Panky Lou” was, that wonderful, loving, nurturing, jovial, inspirational, sincere, and a one-of-a-kind human being.
On May 10, 2021 around Monday morning the angels pluck a petal from the rose garden of life and Jerri Allyson Collins - Butler joined the angels up above and reunite with her beloved son JR. (Bookie Dookie). Your two beautiful girls will not forget what was taught to them and will forever miss you and continue to also be those loving, selfless, caring and strong young women who you raised us to be.
She was preceded in death by her parents Jimmie Lee Sanders and Clarence F. Collins, and her young king (Son) Donald Eric Jackson Jr.
