ELIZABETH SCAMAN Obituary

Elizabeth Lynne Scaman

09-15-1981 – 01-02-2023

Elizabeth Lynne Scaman, 41, went to be with her Heavenly Father on Monday, January 2, 2023. Services will be held on Saturday, January 7, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. at the First Baptist Church in Marlin, Texas with Rev. Judd Strawbridge officiating. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery. Visitation will be held Friday, January 6, 2023 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Robertson Funeral Home Chapel located at 338 Commerce Street in Marlin.

Elizabeth was born September 15, 1981 in Temple to Richard Scaman and Linda Scaman, of Marlin. Elizabeth was a lifelong resident of Marlin, only leaving for a short time to live in McGregor. She graduated from Marlin High School and continued her education graduating with a Bachelor of Social Work from University of Texas at Arlington. Elizabeth would work for McLennan County Mental Health and Mental Retardation (MHMR) for a number of years before her health required her to retire at a very early age. Elizabeth enjoyed spending time with her family, friends, and beloved furry friends. She was especially fond of Cricket, Millie, and Etta. Elizabeth loved joking around with her mother and brother, however she usually ended up being on the wrong end of the joke. Elizabeth would join in and enjoyed playing Wheel of Fortune against her mother, Linda, and brother, Ricky. However, her real enjoyment was watching QVC every waking hour of the day. Elizabeth was a member of Trinity Memorial Baptist Church and First Baptist Church, both of Marlin.

Elizabeth was preceded in death by her mother, Linda, her father, Richard, her grandparents, Harlan and Frances (Sowders) Nutt, and aunts, Cathy Stevens and Lana Balzrette, all of Marlin.

She is survived by her brother, Ricky Scaman and fiancé Tina Muth, nephew, Daniel Scaman, niece, Kayla Scaman, and aunt, Sandra Berry, along with many cousins, extended family, and friends. She is also survived by her cat, Etta, who is in the care of her nephew, Daniel.

Pallbearers will be Pete Nehring, Man Nehring, Edd Nehring, James Johnson, Richard Johnson, Thomas Ehlers, Derick Johnson, and Michael Stott.

The family has asked that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Daniel Scaman’s education account at Members Choice of Central Texas Federal Credit Union or the animal rescue/humane society of your choice.
