Barbara Tyler Obituary

Service for Barbara Ruth Vaughn Tyler of Marlin will he held on Saturday, March 27, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. Greater Providence Baptist Church in Marlin, Texas, burial will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery. Visitation will be on Friday, March 26, 2021 from 2:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. at the funeral hone. Masks are required for visitation and church service. Ms. Tyler service will be live streamed on Francis A. Green Facebook Live at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.

Obituary

On October 25, 1936 Barbara Ruth Vaughn was born to Elyard E. Vaughn Sr. and Beactrice (Palmer )Vaughn, Perry, Texas. She was the sixth of ten children born to this union.

Barbara was fondly called ‘ Bob or Shortie’ by her family and friends. She joined Nazareth Baptist Church at a young age and went to Hebron Community School in Perry , Texas. Later she continued her education at Booker T Washington School, Marlin, Texas. While living in Marlin, she united with the Greater Providence Baptist Church serving as an usher and a member of the youth choir. She was a faithful member of the usher board until her health failed her. Barbara worked many years at the Turkey Plant, Waco, TX; later the Marlin laundromat, Chic ll, and she worked over twenty years for the Golden Years Nursing Home before retiring.

She married Louis E. “Sonny” Tyler on October 14, 1956 to this union four children were born. Wilma L. Tyler, Velma J. Tyler, James E. Tyler and Louis E. Tyler Jr.

On Friday, March 19, 2021, God gifted Barbara her wings and called her home to rest.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents and husband; a son Louis

E. Tyler Jr.; three brothers, Alfred Vaughn, Sr., Ezekiel Vaughn, Sr. and Rev. Elyard Vaughn,Jr.

She leaves to cherish her memory- two daughters, Wilma L. (Willie) Harvey Austin, TX, Velma J. (Leon) Coronado Red Oak, TX , a son, James E.

Tyler (Brenda) Marlin, TX, three sisters, Jessie Barrett, Fort Worth, TX; Betty Armon, Waco, TX; Erlene V. Campbell Davis, Perry, TX; one brother, Jimmy R. Vaughn, Waco, TX; six grandchildren, Eric D. (Linda) Tyler, Hickory, NC; ZeAndrea Coe-Tyler, Arlington, TX; Dewayne (Ashley) Tyler; Bellmead, TX; Tyrin Kiker-Tyler; Waco, TX, Jessika Coronado and Jazsmin Coronado both of Red Oak , TX; two sister-in-laws Mabel (Tyler) Wilson; Bertie Vaughn; Six Great grandchildren and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and special friends.
